John Robertson: Biography
John Robertson, 48, has been elected as Member of Parliament for the Glasgow Anniesland constituency, replacing the late First Minister Donald Dewar.


Occupation: Former customer services manager with British Telecom for 31 years.

Personal details: Born in the Anniesland constituency and lives there with his wife Eleanor and two daughters.

Political career: Became involved with the Labour Party through the trade union movement and has been a member for 16 years.

Currently chairman of the Anniesland constituency Labour Party.
