Protesters throw eggs at Blair
Tony Blair
Mr Blair spoke to 500 supporters at Oldham Civic Centre
A Labour rally at Oldham has seen Fathers 4 Justice protesters throw eggs at the prime minister.

Two men jumped from behind parked cars and threw eggs at the silver Range Rover Mr Blair was leaving the local civic centre in.

The pair were arrested by police following the incident.

A member of Fathers 4 Justice said the protest was aimed at "Humpty Dumpty" legislation that kept fathers from their children.

One of the protesters arrested over the incident, Graham Wilson, is the Liverpool co-ordinator of the campaign.

As he was bundled into a police van he shouted out: "These people are not democratic, they're child abusers.

"Every day hundreds of children are not allowed full or part access to their fathers," he said.

The second man involved gave his name as Michael Downes.
