Candidates supporting A82 upgrade

A group campaigning to upgrade the A82 said it has won across-the-board support from political parties.

The A82 Partnership said candidates standing in Ross, Skye and Lochaber and Argyll and Bute had responded positively to a questionnaire it sent.

Responsibility for the trunk road is devolved to Scotland, but the Westminster candidates accepted they had a role in "pursuing" improvements.

The group has described the road as one of Scotland's "most dangerous".

The route runs from Inverness to Glasgow.
