Eddie Izzard was on the campaign trail at Dumfries College
Comedian Eddie Izzard has been in the south of Scotland backing Labour's call for young people to get out and vote.
The party believes improving opportunities for youngsters is "at the heart of what Labour is about".
In addition to Izzard's Dumfries College visit, Scottish Labour leader Iain Gray insisted that Tory policies would "wreck" the economic recovery.
He also said the SNP had let down young people by failing to keep a pledge to provide grants for their first homes.
Mr Gray welcomed the good news that Scotland was coming out of the recession, but added that the economic recovery was fragile.
He said: "Scottish government figures show that the construction industry in Scotland has been hit worse than the rest of the UK due to the Salmond slump.
"Growth in the construction industry in Scotland has fallen at three times the UK rate.
"More than £2bn of investment in capital infrastructure programmes and over 30,000 jobs have been lost due to Alex Salmond's failed policies."
