Two Herefordshire councillors have stood down, a council has confirmed. Rees Mills and Kay Swinburne, both Conservative councillors in Hope End and Ledbury wards, announced their resignations last month. Residents will now vote for two new councillors on 6 May, the same day as the general election, the council said. Polling stations will be open from 0700 to 1000 BST and the result will be announced after the count at a leisure centre on Holmer Road, Hereford. Voters are being reminded that the deadline for new applications to vote by post, or to change existing postal or proxy arrangements, should be sent to the Town Hall in Hereford by 20 April.
