'Reality checking' the parties' policies on Immigration

Immigration has been a constant theme on the campaign trail and it led to heated exchanges in the final prime ministerial debate.

Throughout the campaign our editors have been looking at the parties' policies and how they would work in practice.

For this 'Reality Check', Home Editor Mark Easton assesses how tough they really are on immigration.

Following discussions with the Office for National Statistics, the figure of -8,000 for the net outflow of non-EU workers has been revised to a more reliable total of -76,000. A full explanation can be found on Mark Easton's blog.
