Brown makes pledge on DNA database

Gordon Brown has used the case of murdered teenager Sally Anne Bowman to illustrate how the DNA database brings hundreds of criminals to justice.

He said without that data, Mark Dixie would not have been caught and convicted.

The PM claimed the Conservatives want to scrap the database.

He made the comments at a Labour campaign event in Stevenage where he spoke about crime and policing.
