Backbench Business Committee appointed

Labour MP Natascha Engel has been elected chair of the Backbench Business Committee, a new committee created to enable backbenchers to set out business in the House of Commons on days not taken up by Government and Opposition business.

Ms Engel spoke to Mark D'Arcy on why it was unexpected for her to be chosen to chair it, and what hopes she has for what it can achieve.
