This week saw 20 lucky backbenchers given the chance to make their own mark on the statute book.

The MPs selected in the ballot can present a bill of their choice to parliament. Those who come top of the list have a better chance of making legislation because they get priority when private members' bills are debated.

The Record Review's Ana Lockerbie reports on the plans of this year's lucky winners.
