With the impact of the volcanic ash cloud starting to recede, the Record Europe investigates what role the EU's institutions played in dealing with the crisis.

An emergency debate was held in the European Parliament, but with many MEPs unable to travel to Strasbourg, was it worth it?

And did the Council do enough to facilitate co-ordination between the EU's transport ministers?
