Gordon Brown reveals five key general election pledges

Gordon Brown has pledged to secure the economic recovery and make government more accountable, as he unveiled his five election pledges.

He hailed Labour as the "people's party" in a speech to activists, but Tory leader David Cameron accused him of "taking people for fools", while Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg said: "Any number of pledges won't make people forget 13 years of Labour failure".

Iain Watson reports.
