David Cameron increases pressure for lobbying inquiry

David Cameron has increased the pressure on the government to hold an open inquiry into the alleged lobbying activities of three Labour MPs.

Former cabinet ministers Stephen Byers, Patricia Hewitt and Geoff Hoon are under investigation by the Labour Party over their apparent willingness to help a lobbying firm in return for cash.

They were secretly filmed by the Channel 4 programme Dispatches, but have denied any wrong-doing.

David Cameron made the remarks at his regular news conference.
