Six-year limit on DNA of innocent

The DNA of most innocent people arrested in England and Wales will not be held for more than six years.

The Home Office confirmed the move in a bid to make the DNA database legal.

The European Court of Human Rights last year ruled that the existing indefinite limit was unfair.
