The three main party leaders have welcomed the recommendations by Sir Christopher Kelly on reforming MPs' expenses.

At Prime Minister's Questions, Mr Cameron said this was an essential part of "restoring faith" in Parliament and politics after the expenses scandal.

Mr Brown pledged the system in future would be "open, transparent, and fair" and managed by an independent body.

The Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg also called for them to be implemented "without any further delay."
