Byrne: 'Toughest bonus rules in the world'

The Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Liam Byrne, has said Britain now has some of the toughest rules on banking bonuses in the world.

His comments come after the Shadow Chancellor, George Osborne, said there should be a temporary ban on big cash bonuses at high street banks.

He said any spare money should be used to support new lending to boost the economy.
