The leader of the British National Party, Nick Griffin, was challenged on his views about Muslims during his controversial appearance on Question Time, on BBC1 last night.

Mr Griffin was asked by a member of the audience why he thought Islam was a "wicked and vicious faith", as he has been quoted as saying.

Mr Griffin told the programme that the religion had its "good points" but added that it didn't fit in with "the fundamental values of British society".
