Tory leader David Cameron is warning his own MPs that if they do not repay the expenses asked of them, they will not be able to stand at the next election as Conservatives.

There is widespread anger among both Labour and Conservative MPs at retrospective demands to repay some claims on their cleaning and gardening bills.

Many will face recommendations that they repay claims approved since 2004.

However speaking on GMTV David Cameron said they must pay up or quit.
