Tories hit back in NHS attack row

David Cameron has defended the NHS after one his own MEPs warned America against adopting Britain's system of health care.

Daniel Hannan was taking part in a television debate on President Obama's plans for health reform.

The comments have provoked a backlash in the UK - with thousands, including the prime minister, using the internet to defend and praise the health service.
