The House of Commons currently sits from 1430 to 2230 on Mondays and Tuesdays, 1130 to 1930 on Wednesdays and 1030 to 1830 on Thursdays. When the House meets on Fridays it is from 0930 to 1500. If, however, the government wishes to keep the Commons sitting beyond these times an "Any Hours" motion can be put before the House. If a majority of MPs vote in favour of the motion, the House can carry on sitting until it has finished the business before it - in other words until any hour.
