Call for 'smarter' drugs policing

Anti-drug policing should be concentrated on the most harmful aspects of the trade, according to a think tank.

The UK Drug Policy Commission said current strategy focused too much on seizures and arrests and not enough on reducing harm.

The group's chief, Roger Howard, said he did not "think the police are doing anything wrong" but should use their "limited resources to best effect".
