Politicians: can they be honest?


Harriet Harman and William Hague locked horns over the state of the economy in the Commons on Wednesday, each giving us their own versions of the facts.

But are politicians being straight with us in these exchanges about the economy? Is it really impossible for them to give a straight answer to a straight question?

Keith Macdougall is joined in the studio by two guests who have dabbled with the truth in their time:
