Tories promise to cut back quangos

Conservative leader David Cameron has pledged to review the future of hundreds of quangos, the non-elected bodies which control billions of pounds in public spending.

Mr Cameron said that some would be abolished, and others reduced in size, in order to establish ''democratic accountability''.

The government has also announced its own review into the future of quangos. Nick Robinson reports.
