MP questions Speaker's authority

Tory Douglas Carswell has told Speaker Michael Martin that a new figure with "moral authority" is needed to lead reform.

A succession of MPs challenged the Speaker over his handling of the MPs' expenses controversy. Some members said they wanted a debate and a vote of no confidence in him.
