How the EU ban on seal products came into being

The European parliament recently voted to ban imports of seal products in the EU.

The Record Europe has charted the dramatic course of this new law - which was forced through in record time - speaking to the key players as the proposal took shape.

EU vote-tracking website launched

There is now a way to track how elected representatives are voting in Brussels and Strasbourg.

A new website, votewatch.eu has been designed to make MEPs more accountable to voters.

Professor Simon Hix, from the London School of Economics tells the Record Europe's Lucy Thomas how he hopes the project will open up the parliament and help people to decide which way to vote based on their elected representative's past performance.


The Record: Europe examines the key moments in the political week in Brussels and Strasbourg and focuses on the work of the European Parliament and European Commission.
