Gordon Brown makes expenses apology


The prime minister has apologised for the scandal of MPs' expenses claims.

Newspaper reports reveal MPs have claimed for items such as dog food, light bulbs and Remembrance Day wreaths.

Speaking at the Royal College of Nursing conference in Harrogate, Gordon Brown said trust in politics must be restored.
