Lib Dems want inquiry into G20 death

The Liberal Democrats are calling for a criminal inquiry after video footage emerged showing a man being knocked to the ground by a police officer during the G20 demonstrations in London.

Ian Tomlinson, 47, who was not protesting, collapsed and died shortly afterwards.

Liberal Democrats' Justice Spokesman David Howarth said the video clearly shows an assault on Mr Tomlinson, and must be fully investigated by the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
