A day in the life of Gordon Brown, as questions continue to be asked about his leadership - including a meeting with his Cabinet, welcoming an international leader, and a speech in Northern Ireland.

On departure from Number 10, deputy Labour leader Harriet Harman praised the prime minister. Health Secretary Alan Johnson told reporters that Labour had been disunited in the past, and that now 'unity is essential'.

Following his cabinet meeting, Mr Brown welcomed Pakistan's new President, Asif Ali Zardari, to London.

After meeting Northern Ireland Secretary Shaun Woodward at the Northern Ireland Assembly later on in the afternoon, Mr Brown told unionists and republicans that their historic power sharing had proved cynics wrong, and had made history.
