Cable on UK's economy crisis

Liberal Democrat Treasury spokesman Vince Cable has given his reaction to the Chancellor's admission in the Guardian newspaper that the UK faces its worst economic crisis "in 60 years".

Mr Cable said the government had been inconsistent with its message and "lurched from one extreme to another".
