Youngsters from nine African countries will also quiz Blair
R&B act Destiny's Child are to quiz Tony Blair by video about next week's G8 summit in a show to be broadcast on music channel MTV.

The prime minister will join Live 8 organiser Bob Geldof for a question and answer session on a programme which has a huge potential worldwide audience.

Mr Blair will also be quizzed by US hip hop star Kanye West and an audience of youngsters from 24 countries.

The show will focus on the G8's twin goals of Africa and climate change.

Disbanding

Youth presenter Trevor Nelson will host the hour-long programme entitled "All Eyes on Tony Blair".

Artists Destiny's Child, who have announced their plan to disband, have just been named best group at the Black Entertainment Awards ceremony in Los Angeles.

The show will be broadcast at 1900 BST (1800 GMT) on 1 July.

Mr Blair last appeared on the channel in 2003 when he faced cross examination about the plans to invade Iraq.
