What makes Tory MP Jeremy Hunt tick? Read on to find out...
Constituency: South West Surrey
Marital Status/Kids: Single/ No children
Educated: First Class Honours Degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economic from Magdalen College, Oxford
WHAT DID YOU DO BEFORE YOU WERE AN MP?
Set up from scratch a company called Hotcourses which publishes guides and websites to help people find the right course or college.
WHAT WERE YOU LIKE AT SCHOOL?
Probably one of the quiet ones who annoyingly always did their homework on time. But the arrival of girls in the sixth form (it was single sex until then) helped to broaden my focus somewhat.
WHAT ATTRACTED YOU TO POLITICS?
In the end you have to care about the issues enough to want to do something about them rather than just criticise from the sidelines. All MPs are motivated by a mixture of altruism and egotism - the key thing is to make sure the altruism wins out.
WHAT'S THE BEST/WORST THING ABOUT BEING AN MP?
Best - being able to help my constituents, knowing that what I do can have a real impact on peoples lives.
Worst - only being able to do so much to help people. Sometimes you feel very powerless when there are those who need your help but you just don't have the answers.
WHO IS YOUR HERO?
I have lots of heroes, but perhaps the most recent one is student who stood in front of the tanks in the Tiananmen Square demonstrations in 1989.
WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE SONG/PIECE OF MUSIC?
I have very eclectic tastes, but usually go for anything with a Latin (especially Brazilian) sound.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR FASHION SENSE?
Smart/casual, enjoy taking my tie off and relaxing.
WHAT'S YOUR IDEA OF A GOOD NIGHT OUT?
Going to a Latin club with friends.
WHAT CAN'T YOU LIVE WITHOUT?
My Palm pilot.
TELL US SOMETHING WE DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU
I speak fluent Japanese (albeit with a strong accent).
