Bomb at house made safe by army

Army bomb squad

A bomb has been made safe at a house on the outskirts of west Belfast.

It was discovered after a security alert at Merrion Park in the Poleglass estate which began on Friday morning.

The Army was sent to the scene and made safe what police have called a viable device. It was later removed for examination.

Police have appealed for anyone with information or who noticed anything unusual in the area overnight or early in the morning to contact them.
