Man charged with attempted murder

A man has been charged in connection with the attempted murder of a man in Coleraine 11 months ago.

Damien Fleming was critically injured during the same attack in which his friend Kevin McDaid was murdered.

A 41-year-old man was charged on Tuesday and is expected to appear in court on Wednesday morning.

Catholic father-of-four Mr McDaid was beaten to a death by a loyalist mob near his home. Eleven people have been charged in connection with his murder.
