Police step up Derry patrols after alerts

Police

The police in Londonderry have stepped up the number of patrols in the city.

It follows a series of security alerts which caused widespread disruption in Derry a week ago.

A number of police officers were parked at the Foyle Bridge during the early-morning rush hour.

The police say the operation is designed to reassure the public that officers are working hard to prevent further disruption to the community.
