Man in court over Donegal dissident plot

A man who was arrested after Irish police foiled what they believe was a dissident republican attack is to appear in court later today.

The 49-year-old is to appear at the Special Criminal Court in Dublin.

He was detained near Stranorlar on Tuesday after police stopped a car. Three other passengers fled across fields.

Two firearms have been recovered and four cars seized as part of the investigation.
