Gynae services to return to Erne

Tyrone County Hospital
Some services were suspended at the Tyrone County and the Erne hospitals

Some gynaecology services at the Erne hospital in Enniskillen will be restored in just under two weeks, the Western Trust has said.

The Erne and Tyrone County hospitals suspended some services on Tuesday after five of the Trust's six junior doctors failed to take up their posts.

Clinical director Dr Michael Parker said he hoped emergency services would resume on 14th September.

It is understood 13 women have had their operations moved to Altnagelvin.

The Trust said they believe the majority of women who have had their outpatient appointments diverted will end up being seen at the Erne.
