Football directors disqualified

Coleraine FC

Three former directors of Coleraine Football Club have been disqualified from holding similar roles at other companies for nine years.

The Department of Enterprise accepted disqualification undertakings from Hugh David Albert Cameron, 50, Maurice Laverty, 61 and Joseph Ivor Reilly, 65.

The Coleraine Football and Sports Club, Ltd went into administration on 5 September 2005.

In 2006, the Friends of Coleraine formally took control of the club.

The Inland Revenue, which was owed £365,000, applied for an order to wind-up the football club in August 2005.

However, the High Court backed the rescue plan of the Friends of Coleraine group.
