Mr Brown was on holiday in the Aran Islands

Search teams looking for a missing Londonderry man off the Aran Islands have found a body.

It is the body of 42-year-old Joe Brown who was last seen on Inisheer, the smallest of the three Aran Islands, on Saturday night.

The alarm was raised on Sunday afternoon and helicopter, lifeboat and the coastguard, as well as Irish police and islanders, took part in the search.

It is understood the body was found by a fisherman in Galway Bay.
