Man arrested after death in town

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man at a house in Magherafelt, County Londonderry.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested and is being questioned by police.

A body was found in the Rainey Street area of the town shortly before 0330 GMT on Sunday.

A large part of the street, which is in the centre of the town, has been cordoned off as police scenes-of-crime officers examine the area.

They are concentrating on the footpath outside a furniture store.

It is understood that the man lived not far from there.

Police have not disclosed how the man died. A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out later.
