Woman in £1m salon fraud charge

A 56-year-old woman has appeared in court in Strabane charged with fraud of over £1m relating to the purchase of a beauty treatment clinic in Sion Mills.

Celia Julia Holmes, of Crockett Park in Castlederg, is also accused of defrauding businesses in west Tyrone and Antrim out of thousands of pounds.

She faces a total of 17 charges which relate to fraud, handling stolen goods, and obtaining services dishonestly.

The defendant was remanded in custody until 4 December.
