Board loses offender information

USB stick
The information was contained on a memory stick

The Probation Board has launched an investigation after a memory stick holding information about an offender was found in Londonderry.

The personally-owned USB device was found by a member of the public who returned it to the board.

In a statement, the Probation Board confirmed the personal storage of such information was against its policy.

"It contains information on one individual the PBNI has worked with," it said."
