Quigley suspect taken to hospital

A man arrested in Donegal in connection with the killing of Londonderry woman Jean Quigley is under police protection in hospital.

He is understood to be 36-year-old Stephen Cahoon.

Detectives want to question him about Mrs Quigley who was beaten to death at her Cornshell Fields home on 26 July.

He was arrested in Donegal town on Tuesday night and taken to Ballyshannon Garda Station. Later, he said he felt unwell and was taken to hospital.

He can be held for 24 hours. After that, he must be brought to court or released, but the time limit is suspended while he is in hospital.

A PSNI officer is in Donegal liaising with gardaí.

Mrs Quigley, a mother of four, was two months pregnant when she died.
