Man sought over mother's murder

Police are thought to be looking for Stephen Cahoon

It is understood the police are seeking a man in connection with the murder of Londonderry mother-of-four Jean Quigley at the weekend.

He is Stephen Cahoon, who is believed to have been in contact with the 30- year-old in recent weeks.

Cahoon served a jail term in Northern Ireland after convictions in 1999 for violent assaults on two women.

Officers handed out leaflets and carried out interviews near her home in Cornshell Fields on Friday.

The PSNI have been liaising with Gardai over the case.

Ms Quigley's funeral will take place on Saturday.
