Thousands were at the beach party

Eighteen people were arrested on suspicion of drugs offences at the Live beach party in Portrush at the weekend.

More than 18,000 people travelled to Saturday's event which was headlined by dance act The Chemical Brothers.

Police seized ecstasy, cannabis, amphetamines, cocaine and ketamine during the course of the event.

A spokesperson said the party was a success despite trouble in the Ballywillan Road and Coleraine Road areas afterwards.

"Some gardens were treated as public conveniences and as a place to dump empty beer tins and other rubbish," a police spokesperson said.
