Evacuation after gas main hit

There has been a serious gas leak in Castlereagh in east Belfast.

Phoenix Gas, which owns Northern Ireland's natural gas pipeline said a third party contractor hit a gas main in the Montgomery Road area of the city.

Factories and the nearby Robinson leisure centre have been evacuated and residents on the Clonduff Estate close to the leak have been told to stay indoors and close their windows.

Contractors working for a telecommunications company hit the gas main.
