Childhood obesity reaching 'epidemic' proportions

A NI paediatrician is warning that parents who fail to tackle serious weight problems in their children, could run the risk of involving child protection services.

The doctor, who works for the Belfast Health Trust says levels of obesity are reaching epidemic proportions and tough action may be required in extreme cases.

So when should childhood obesity constitute grounds for a charge of neglect?
