Portadown man restores Cold War nuclear bunker


Gordon Adair reports on the Portadown man who has lovingly restored a Cold War nuclear bunker.

The Cold War is supposedly over, although, given recent newspaper headlines about international espionage, you could be forgiven for thinking differently.

Those days are certainly not forgotten by a county Armagh man, who is opening his own private museum.

Our district journalist, Gordon Adair, has been taking a trip down the slightly scary side of memory lane which has brought him to a 'secret location' just outside Portadown.


BBC Newsline talks to Alistair McCann who has restored a nuclear bunker just outside Portadown.
