Road reopens after security alert in west Belfast

Police

A suspicious object which led to an overnight security alert in Belfast was a hoax device.

Army bomb disposal officers were called to examine a device on the Donegall Road close to the Park Centre in the west of the city.

The area near the off-slip to the M1 motorway was closed to traffic at about 0200 BST on Wednesday.

The road has now been reopened to traffic.
