Assault 'sectarian hate crime'

Police

Three people have been injured during an assault in Coleraine.

Two men and a woman were walking along Killowen Street at 2300 BST on Friday when a number of people approached them.

One of the men suffered a cut to his head, the other received cuts and bruising to his face, while the woman suffered shock, bruising and a sore back.

Police are treating the assault as a sectarian hate crime.

Police said they will continue to work closely with the community while they investigate the assault.
