Police use CS spray to control trouble in Ballycastle

Trouble flared in the early hours in the Diamond area

Police officers have used CS spray gas to control trouble in the early hours of Sunday in Ballycastle.

There were reports of trouble involving up to 12 people in the Diamond area of the town at about 0200 BST.

When officers attended the disturbance several smaller skirmishes broke out. CS spray was used to quell the rioting.

Two men, aged 21 and 24, were taken to hospital for treatment. Two police officers also sustained minor injuries. There have been no arrests.

Police are appealing to anyone who has information to contact them.
