A man from Newtownabbey has been charged with having a gun and ammunition in Donegal on Easter Monday. John Moran, 52, of Serpentine Avenue, claimed the charge was related to a court case a year ago when he gave evidence for the prosecution. He was arrested as Irish police broke up a dispute outside the Orchard Bar, Gleneely near Carndonagh. Donegal District Court was told that there had been a row between locals and several people from Northern Ireland. Mr Moran, a car salesman, said he had a family holiday home at Carndonagh where many relatives live. He was released on bail of 25,000 euro.
